What is it...?
Day With India is an outreach event hosted by the
India Association of Greater Greenville (IAGG), to provide members
of the non-Indian community a unique opportunity to experience aspects
of Indian culture and heritage right here in Greenville, SC.
This family event offers something for everyone... a chance
to explore and experience an ancient exotic culture... enthralling live
dance & music performances ... authentic Indian cuisine catered by
area restaurants to tickle every palate... ethnic Indian merchandise from
reputed vendors priced to fit a value conscious shopper's budget ... and
fun activities designed to amaze, inform & entertain guests of various
age groups... all presented in a gala festival like setting.
The charity aspect
Each year, IAGG identified charity organizations receive
a portion of proceeds from the event to support their activities. So along
with having a really great time, you have the additional satisfaction
of knowing that you are helping others in their time of need.
This year, our event proceeds will help support activities
of A Child's Haven
Seriously...? A cultural event in current
economic climate...?
In spite of all round challenges this year, we felt the
show had to go on because
- The Day With India event brings people together, leading to a better
understanding of one another.
- It provides an opportunity, particularly valuable for young children,
to understand and appreciate cultural diversity.
- Proceeds from the event help support a deserving charity, helping
offset revenue losses typical when an economy is in recession.

Since its launch in February 2005, this event has been received
very enthusiastically. Recent year counts place number of attending guests
upwards of 3000, with 70%-80% being of non-Indian origin.
We invite you to join us and help make Day With India
2009 an even greater success than past years.
